In May of 2025, Perry Wilson announced his retirement after 35 years of barbering in St. Stephen. With a desire to ensure that his clients would be looked after long term, The Barber family entered the role of owners and operators of a shop serving as a continuation of Perry's Barbershop.

      We are open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6:30pm.

      Summer hours 8 weeks duration of July and August are Closed Mondays. 

      Closed all Holidays.

      Yes, we only accept walk-ins, we do not accept appointments. Please note that hair must be above shoulder length to be accepted. 

      We offer haircuts only for clients with short hair lengths, as we operate within the our predecessor Perrys Barbershop format: no shampoo or style dry. No chemical services available on site whatsoever.


      The average haircut time is 15 minutes. 

      There are circumstances where we may be an additional five minutes, however we strictly maintain a consistent average time frame to keep predictable wait times for clients.

      No, a spray bottle is used to saturate the hair. 

      There is a shampoo sink on site for clients who may need the service for emergency circumstances only, at an additional cost.

      In consistency with the former Perry's Barbershop, we only cut short lengths of hair. 

      Both men and women, boys and girls are welcome, however we do not service long lengths of hair (shoulder length or below).

      No, as of April 1, 2026 beard trims were removed from the service list as we wish to maintain a haircut-only focused barbershop. This ensures expected wait times for our loyal clientele. Should a client have trouble with vision or mobility issues and are unable to trim their beard at home, the hairdresser may accommodate accordingly.



      Yes, The Hair Lounge currently offers the following for wheelchair accommodations:

      - a separate haircutting station for wheelchair only access. 

      - an entrance ramp

      - waiting room designated wheelchair space.

       It is our goal to offer as many accommodations as possible for wheelchair access in the future. Current limitations include a non-wheelchair accessible bathroom, and no automated door systems. 

      Yes.  

      Please bear in mind that we do not offer fading work involving a straight blade.

      No hair tattoos, line-ups, or intensive fade work that exceeds walk-in time frames. 



      Yes, a square terminal system is available which accepts all major credit and debit cards. In addition Apple Pay and American Express are accepted. 

      PLEASE NOTE taxes are  added to debit/credit payments, but not on cash payments.

      Clients are served on a first come, first serve basis.  No names are taken.

      Upon your arrival, simply take a seat and count the number of clientele in front of you. Clients will be taken in order of their arrival.

      Please note that there is no reserved seating, if you leave the building your position in line no longer stands. 

      No, affective August 1, 2026 products will longer be sold in store to prevent service disruptions. Our haircutters seek to dedicate their focus to one client at a time, rather than provide another customer with a purchase and consult during a haircut service.

      No, The Hair Lounge is open continuously from opening at 9am until closing at 6:30pm.

      The last client is generally served at 6:15pm to ensure adequate time to complete the last service before closing at 6:30pm. Please note however that on busy days an AT CAPACITY sign will be posted on the door earlier if the amount of clients in line in the waiting room amounts to the remaining time period. At that point, no additional clients may enter the line regardless of the time of day.
